I thought Id do a post on one of my favorite photographers. I dont know if I still consider her my favorite but she was my first favorite and she really inspired me and made me interested in portraits, although I still dont shoot many portraits, Im a bit awkward with directing models. But this photographer did all self portraits and I thought her images were very bold and I enjoy her work.

her self portraits were not very standard expecially at the time. in many of her photographs you cna see that she is holding the camera trigger and the cord is hidden and small things like that. its very interesting and I love that she incorporated her personality literally in all of her photographs. I like her early work mainly, the black and white. she also work in color and even some still life now.

I was introduced to cindy sherman by my high school photo teacher. He put up her work and we made up our own stories about the scene and they ended up getting pretty elaborate and detailed. it was fun and a new way to interpret art
